Fifty years is worth celebrating. Since 1976, Metropolitan Pump Co. has grown from its roots in Waterloo, Ontario into one of Canada's most trusted names in pump solutions, and we've never lost sight of the relationships, the community, and the people who made that possible. So when it came time to mark half a century in business, we wanted to do more than celebrate ourselves. We wanted to give something back.
On August 17th, 2026, we hosted our 50th Anniversary Charity Golf Tournament at the beautiful Galt Country Club in Cambridge. The day brought together players, partners, suppliers, and friends for 18 holes of golf, plenty of laughs, and a shared purpose. By the end of the day, we had raised a total of $27,000 for two outstanding local and national causes.
$16,000 was donated to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, an organization that has spent decades funding life-saving research, driving awareness around cardiovascular health, and supporting Canadians affected by heart disease and stroke.
$11,000 went to the Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN), which works tirelessly to deliver exceptional health care to the people of Waterloo Region, right here in our own backyard. We are incredibly proud of what this group of people made possible in a single afternoon.
A Day to Remember
The course was in fantastic shape, the weather cooperated, and the competitive spirit was very much alive from the first tee to the final green. Galt Country Club is one of the finest venues in the region, and it was the perfect backdrop for a tournament of this scale.
Of course, nothing had the field buzzing quite like the hole-in-one prize. Waiting on the 165 yard par-3 at hole 4 were the keys to a 2027 Corvette 3LT. Courtesy of Bennett Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC, a prize like that has a way of sharpening everyone's focus, and it made for some of the most intense and entertaining golf of the day. The bragging rights alone were worth the round.
Beyond the golf itself, the day was a reminder of what makes events like this special. It is not just about the score. It is about spending time with the people who have shown up for MPC year after year, who trust us with their business, and who continue to push this industry forward alongside us. Walking that course, it was easy to feel just how much goodwill has been built over five decades.
